End poverty in the heart and on the land. Their approach to ending poverty is unique. They work hand in hand with families in Africa. They understand that poverty is more than just the day to day struggle of toiling on land that fails to produce. Many people believe that poverty has become part of their personality, and hold out little hope for change. They provide livestock and training in natural organic farming practices alongside courses in gender equality, conflict resolution and more. It’s a package that works. It's a package that families pass on to others. Send a Cow helps African communities find the riches in their own back garden so they can grow their own food to feed themselves and their families every day. Right now a child is falling ill because of malnutrition. A father is leaving his family behind to look for work elsewhere. A mother is going without food so her family can eat. Their family, their community is breaking down. People are becoming increasingly isolated. Their vision for the future is simply one of survival, with no hope of escaping poverty. Believe in a confident and thriving rural Africa. Support their work and you will see a very different Africa. You will see communities tackling life’s challenges together. You will see families resilient to financial, environmental and emotional shocks. And you will see people that start with an ‘I can do it’ attitude, take firm control of their own futures. The world's hungry are farming families. In Africa 70% rely on their land to feed their families and make a living. Yet climate change means harvests are less reliable. Rains fail. Land is less productive. Disease and conflict further undermine the very fabric of African communities and a family's ability to grow enough food to survive. This can change. Send a Cow has not evolved like other development organisations.  They have remained true to their roots; farmers working with farmers, speaking the same language, learning together how to make a living from the land.  Developed over 25 years it’s a response that works. Communities are united and farmers have the self-belief and skills to transform the soil beneath them. By giving to Send a Cow, you are showing you want families to be lifted out of poverty for good, not just for a few years. Your contribution will help build a confident and thriving rural Africa: village by village, region by region, country by country. Your support will lead to permanent change where people are happier, families are more harmonious and children are educated.
