The Paraense Society for the Defense of Human Rights (SDDH) is a non-profit civil entity, founded on August 8, 1977, whose mission is to value and defend human rights from the perspective of a Just and Equal Society, whose objective is the defense of those affected by human rights violations, has always been working to develop and propagate mechanisms for the dissemination of the culture of Human Rights, participating in the elaboration of public policies, especially in the areas of justice and public security, and more recently in the area of human rights education.
Born in a situation where the Civil Military Dictatorship in Brazil prevailed, over the years and logically, from the historical changes, the SDDH has taken on other flags and today, in the 21st century, it develops actions that are a mixture of research, protection, denunciation , and proposition, of regional and international scope; in short, an entity that tirelessly strives to build the values of a more free, fair, solidary and dignified world.
Over more than three decades of existence it has a large network of partners and collaborators both at the state, national and international levels, this is only possible due to its great political potential in the Amazon context, these partnerships are of paramount importance for the organization, since it streamlines your joints and activities when executing your programs. In this network of partners we can mention: universities, social movements, other non-governmental organizations, schools, governments and international NGOs.
