About

Protecting nature together

Nature is the greatest miracle on earth. A magical combination of people, animals and plants. The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) has the mission to jointly create a world in which people and nature live in harmony. In the interests of nature and in the interests of people, who need nature.

WWF goals worldwide

The World Wildlife Fund was established in 1962 and is part of the international WWF ( World Wide Fund for Nature ). We are working on six major goals in more than 100 countries and projects around the world:

  • Animal species: the most iconic animal species are no longer under threat. Poaching and illegal trade have stopped and there are almost no conflicts between people and animals.
  • Forests : cutting down the indispensable forests has stopped. Worldwide, at least half of the forest is protected.
  • Freshwater : freshwater areas provide clean water for plants, humans and animals; rivers can flow freely again.
  • Climate : nature reserves are prepared for the consequences of climate change.
  • Oceans : things are going well with the oceans, with the fish stocks and with sustainable fishing.
  • Food: food production is sustainable and future-proof; agriculture supplies sufficient food and protects nature.
