Since 2013, Sundara has worked across India, Myanmar and East Africa to recycle over a million bars of soap and redistribute them to communities in need, along with providing intensive hygiene education. Their work has led to the full time employment of 40 women from disadvantaged backgrounds, but this year they asked ourselves what more they could do to empower the women they serve. As such, RISE by Sundara leverages their past knowledge and expertise to become a grant giving organization and a leader in the water, sanitation and hygiene fields.The three pillars guiding their work continue to be prioritizing female leadership and employment, community empowerment, and hygiene education.
