Swedesurvey is the overseas agency of Lantmäteriet, the Swedish mapping, cadastral and land registration authority, and provides services in land governance, NSDI and human resource development throughout the world.
Swedesurvey has been active on the international market since 1980 and our aim has always been to provide high quality services based on the requirements of the customer. We are a Government company under the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs which means we have close links with it and with the Division for Planning, Building and Housing in particular. Our status guarantees impartiality, reliability, quality-consciousness and continuity.
Swedesurvey has extensive and well-established programmes of cooperation with cadastre and mapping organisations in many countries. The primary goal of these activities is to strengthen the capacity within our partner organisations through transfer of knowledge and technology.
Swedesurvey mainly draws resources from Lantmäteriet and has access to the expertise and competence of approximately 2,000 highly qualified professional and technical staff as well as a comprehensive range of equipment and modern technology. This means Swedesurvey can provide consultants such as lawyers, cadastral experts, land policy experts, land-use planners, surveyors, geodesists, photogrammetrists, cartographers, valuation experts, system analysts, computer programmers, economists, administrators and management consultants who are specialists with considerable practical experience and many have overseas experience too. We also have close contacts with other private companies and governmental departments and authorities; we are partners in international consortia and have joint venture agreements with overseas companies. This gives us further access to an even wider range of resources and competence. In addition Swedesurvey has a subsidiary company in Greece, Swedesurvey Hellas, and holds 49% of the shares in an associated company in China, GeoIn Tech Inc. which provides services in all aspects of surveying and mapping.
