Swiss Solidarity unites the solidarity of people in Switzerland for victims of natural disasters and conflicts abroad. An independent foundation created by the SRG SSR, it co-funds projects run by 24 Swiss NGOs active abroad with donations from the public, private companies, the cantons and communes. Swiss Solidarity ensures proper use of these donations through in-depth analyses and evaluations conducted by experts in compliance with international standards for emergency aid, reconstruction and rehabilitation. In Switzerland, the foundation funds projects for people in need, and supports individuals, communities and SMEs suffering major damage in the wake of severe natural disasters. Since 1946, Swiss Solidarity has raised more than CHF 1.8 billion in donations.
