South Africa faces some major obstacles on its journey towards addressing the injustices of the past and to ensure that everyone participates in the economy.
They cannot wait for the education system to be fixed before they act, and that is why they established The Clothing Bank. Their three projects, The Clothing Bank, The Appliance Bank and GROW with Educare, provide unemployed South Africans with an alternative to formal employment by empowering them to become self-employed business people.
The Clothing Bank (TCB) was founded in February 2010 in Cape Town, South Africa, by Tracey Chambers and Tracey Gilmore.
The Clothing Bank has built an ecosystem that supports change and they focus their efforts on supporting and restoring the whole person through their carefully structured training, coaching and mentoring programmes.
