The Full Frame Initiative
About

The Full Frame initiative (FFI) believes that individuals, families and communities with multiple challenges are being failed and hurt by the very human service systems that are intended to help them. FFI’s mission is to increase the likelihood that people and communities who are currently failed by those systems have access to programs that work.

FFI’s core belief is that there are Five Domains of wellbeing— safety, stability, mastery, social connections and meaningful access to relevant mainstream resources— and they are universal, interdependent and non-hierarchical.

When systems interfere with people’s ability to simultaneously meet their needs in all Five Domains, or force them to trade one for another, they contribute to the "revolving door" of services and feed intergenerational cycles of poverty, violence and trauma. When systems are aligned around the Five Domains, results are better and longer lasting.

This understanding of how systems contribute to the institutionalization of poverty, violence and trauma, and the solutions they propose to remedy this, are unique, innovative and urgently needed.

Mission

The mission of the Full Frame Initiative is to change systems so that people and communities experiencing poverty, violence and trauma have the tools, supports and resources they need to thrive.

FFI provides consultation, technical assistance, and training to forward-thinking government agencies to reform how services are funded, regulated and delivered, so systems begin to encourage– instead of thwart— what actually works to break cycles of poverty and violence. FFI also coaches, consults with, provides tools to and convenes extraordinary organizations from around the country to help them deepen their capacity to work with people in the full frame of their lives.
