The Larder Cook School

The Larder Cook School aims to change lives through food by providing access to hospitality training services, cookery classes and fund social activities. As a social enterprise 100% of all profit supports the most disadvantaged into work. The Larder changes lives through food. We do this through our training academy and cook school, where we provide a range of learning opportunities and create great tasting food at affordable prices. The Larder is unique in Scotland in its approach to food and income generation and is now the ‘go to place’ in West Lothian if you want to learn about food or access affordable fresh food which is made by our trainee chefs. Founded in March 2010 as a result of two main drivers; rising youth unemployment and a national decline in cooking ability. The overall aim was to deliver commercial leisure cookery classes and develop enterprise income streams that would support the delivery of hospitality training and employability services for those furthest from the job market.
