TM Associates, Inc. began in 1999 with a one room apartment as an office and seven staff members. Our Founder and namesake Tevis Margolis had made the leap from being a partner in a company to starting one of his own, in the beginning managing only around 50 properties. Embracing the full breadth of the affordable housing industry, TM became two entities- TM Associates Management (TMAM) and TM Associates Development (TMA). By the year 2001 TM moved into its own designated office space with a full staff managing over 100 properties.
Today, TMAM manages over 230 properties and 10,000+ units and is still growing. With a Leadership Team unparalleled in their expertise and experience in property management, TMAM is expanding rapidly across the mid-Atlantic region. TMAM staff consists now of over 400 employees overseeing the management operating in nine states- Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.
While Management was growing its portfolio, the TM Associates Development team was successfully completing over 70 projects with awards of competitive Low-Income Housing Tax Credits. TMA has gained vast knowledge of complex projects with layers of financing, and also collected several awards for its green building efforts. The real estate portfolio of TM Associates properties now includes over 100 apartment developments and values exceeding $500,000,000.
