Tropical Biology Association (TBA) training enables scientists, project managers and educators, working in the tropics, to manage and safeguard biodiversity, long term.
It’s what they call capacity building for conservation. Their approach is unique because they provide all of the following to everyone they train:
Capacity building begins by inspiring people. So far, they have launched and supported the careers of over 2,000 conservation champions: half of them from 29 countries in Africa and Madagascar. Their alumni are applying their skills and knowledge in project management, policy development, research and education. They work for government agencies, NGOs, the public and private sectors.
Established in 1993, the TBA is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee (with no share capital). They have offices in Cambridge (UK) and Nairobi (Kenya).
The TBA is a founder member of the Cambridge Conservation Initiative — a collaboration of leading biodiversity conservation organisations and the University of Cambridge. CCI aims to transform global understanding and secure a sustainable future for all life on Earth.
