About

Uganda Youth Network (UYONET) is a leading national youth organization that works to mainstream young peoples’ engagement in development and governance processes in Uganda and East Africa. UYONET was started in 2002 to respond to the increasing demand for a collective platform for research, training and policy advocacy for young people by young people.

Since inception, UYONET has been positioning the youth to play a leading role in nation building by enhancing their visibility in policy and governance processes across East Africa and providing the necessary infrastructure for information sharing and networking through youth empowerment on critical issues, capacity building, lobby and advocacy, publicity and media. Over the last six years, UYONET has been at the forefront of capacitating young leaders at both local and national levels through tailor complete trainings ranging from leadership, advocacy, lobby, negotiation to management.

UYONET has also worked to support youth empowerment through creating platforms and infrastructure with which youth can debate critical issues, build their capacity, carry out lobbying and advocacy, and generate policy change. With a membership of over 47 youth organizations, UYONET is now at the apex of youth programming and designing appropriate interventions that respond to the needs of the youth across the region.
