According to the decree N ° 2019-064 fixing the attributions of the Ministry of Public Health (MSanP) as well as the organization of its Ministry and under the supervision of the General Secretariat,
the PCU's main mission is to coordinate the resources mobilized in the framework of the technical and financial partners (PTF) system and supervise their use in compliance with good governance in order to improve the health of the population

The PCU is in particular responsible for:

• to facilitate links and coherence between health projects and other relevant activities in the field of development and health
• ensure the coordination, implementation and monitoring of the implementation of health projects in conjunction with the project focal points
• ensure the approval of the TFPs of funding requests formulated by the Minister of Public Health
• prepare reports on the execution of health projects
• ensure the role of regulator in the execution of projects financed by TFPs
• ensure the financial management of projects in collaboration with the recipient entity or department
• consolidate business plans and procurement plans
• ensure the provision of contracts, the visa of contracts for approval and signature by the General Secretariat of the MoH
