UNICEF is the agency of the United Nations (UN) specialized in children and adolescents. Created in 1946, it operates in 191 countries to promote the rights of people under 18 around the world in terms of survival, development, protection and social participation.
They work with governments, organizations, the private sector, other UN agencies and international cooperation organizations, among others.
UNICEF's first cooperation with Paraguay dates back to 1950, but it was not until 1972 that the agency established itself in the country to operate locally. In 2002, in recognition of his record of work, the office became independent with a resident representative.
