WEWE’s leadership strongly believes that the change the world want to see may be hidden in the lives and destiny of an orphans and vulnerable children. One child’s destiny has the capacity of changing a Nation.
Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organisation (WEWE) is a not – for – profit, Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that was founded in 2004 by Josephine Ogazi and Joseph Egwuonwu.
WEWE started out as a Community Based Organisation (CBO) with the aim of providing scholarships and economic empowerment to orphans and widows in Okigwe, Imo State and has since expanded its aims and objectives.
WEWE is registered as a national NGO with CAC under incorporated trustees and its registration number is CAC/IT/NO33132.
Vision:
To build the capacity of widows, vulnerable women and their orphans to stand together for their rights to actively contribute to civil society, governance and leadership in Nigeria and Africa.
Mission:
To harness the potentials of widows, orphans and vulnerable segment to become productive entities in the society through advocacy, capacity building, economic empowerment and human rights program.
