Wind Tre is the largest mobile operator with 31 million customers and 2.7 million fixed customers. On 31 December 2016, VimpelCom (now VEON) and CK Hutchison formally launched the company which will be leader on the Italian telecoms market panorama.
The new company, born from the 50/50 merger of the two operational companies H3G S.p.A ("3") and Wind Telecomunicazioni S.p.A. (WIND), following the joint venture of the two parent companies CK Hutchison and VimpelCom (now VEON), is an integrated operator on the tlc market.
