Adam Rogers

I have more than 30 years of experience working in all aspects of communications – from editorial and design production to video documentaries, media relations, crisis communication, and social media. For most of the past 22 years I have held senior positions within the UN: First as Head of Communications at the UN Capital Development Fund, based in NY, then as the Regional Communications Advisor, based in Geneva. • I am currently a Senior Policy Advisor with the UNDP Development Impact Group (BPPS). Before taking up this post I was the Regional Representative in Geneva, for UNOSSC. In that capacity, I supported the director with building and maintaining relations with European-based intergovernmental bodies, while liaising with European-based bilateral donors, the private sector, and civil society. Concurrent to that role, I was the Global Coordinator of the World Alliance of Cities Against Poverty. • I have academic degrees in political science/international affairs (BA), communication and technology (MA) and international business administration (From TRIUM: NYU, LSE and HEC – ranked in the top five globally for the past decade). • Currently I am number 3 on the UNSocial500, a success tracking program that recognizes current UN staff and contractors who are promoting the work of the United Nations via their personal social media accounts (www.unsocial500.com). • Before joining the UN in 1996 I worked in the private sector, co-founding an internet company, taking it public and seeing it reach a peak evaluation of $2.5 billion (albeit in the bubble).
