Ali Ahmed

Ali is experienced GBV/Child protection in humanitarian and development work, in representing, managing and coordinating assistance programs particularly in refugees and non-refugees settings in Somalia and Kenya. I have varsity knowledge in project management, strategic planning, humanitarian organisations (NGOs, local NGOs, UN agencies, authorities and beneficiaries). Additional qualifications include: Organisational management, analytical & writing skills and research work experience. Training, gender mainstreaming, gender base violence programming (prevention and response) Significant field experience in emergency and protracted settings in Somalia and Kenya; experience in working with multi cultural in difficult environments and with traumatised populations. Eight (8) years' experience in implementation of community civil society programs with international organisation in Somalia and Kenya including but not limited to protection, livelihood, peace building progrms and education. Community development and research experience, monitoring & evaluation. Child protection (monitoring, response & reporting mechanism of six grave child right violations in Somalia against violations by armed force and armed groups Six (6) years' expeirence in Gender Based Violence (GBV)/child protection, child rights, psycho-social, , repatriation, registration of refugees /other persons of concern to UNHCR, tracing/family reunification, counselling and human rights. Self driven and result oriented person with passion and practical skills in encountering and solving problems, managing budgets and meeting targets. Effective communication skills; fluently communicate in English (both spoken and written), Arabic (at an intermediate level) and Kiswahili (Average).
