Mr. Arshad Mahmood has been associated with the development sector for over 20 years. Mr. Mahmood has experience in programme development, quality and management, monitoring and reporting progress, conducting situation analysis for evidence based advocacy and campaigning, media and communications and research for rule of law related topics and human and child rights issues including child protection, child and bonded labour, early and forced marriages, education including girls education, child survival and nutrition, implementation of the UN CRC Concluding Observations and Recommendations, SDGs, rule of law, governance and civil society strengthening and capacity building of duty bearers etc. at the national and international level. Mr. Mahmood have experience of heading Program Teams including Governance, Civil Society Strengthening, Child Protection, Child Rights Governance, Advocacy and Communication teams at the International NGOs such as Save the Children International and Save the Children UK and Contractors such as DAI and Coffey International. Mr. Mahmood also headed the leading national NGO of Pakistan, the Society for the Protection of the Rights of the Child (SPARC) and have worked with leading agencies like UNICEF’s Child Protection Sections in Pakistan, Maldives and Jordan with a specific focus on legal and policy framework, research, report writing and follow up of the Concluding Observations and Recommendations. Mr. Mahmood has experience in providing technical and operational support to programme implementation including programmes implemented through government and civil society partners and emergency programmes. Mr. Mahmood has good experience of working in the rule of law and governance related programmes and promoting the related reforms agenda. Mr. Mahmood took a lead on establishing the Scaling Up Nutrition Civil Society Alliance (SUNCSA) in Pakistan and did some pioneering advocacy work on nutrition issues in the country.
