Excellent networking skills. ✓ Thematic expertise in a wide range of areas including: conflict prevention, including in the context of peacekeeping transition; peace process engagement; political dialogue and reconciliation; conflict sensitivity; inclusion; post-conflict recovery and state-building in fragile states; humanitarian access in conflict situations; decentralisation and local governance; service delivery; poverty reduction; serious organised crime. ✓ Strong track record handling highly politically sensitive assignments and complex workloads, delivering to tight deadlines, and leading and building strong multidisciplinary and multicultural teams; ✓ Proven ability to play an advisory role to UK Government as well as to build and maintain excellent working relationships and partnerships with diverse partners and stakeholders including civil society; ✓ Excellent analytical, research and drafting skills, together with excellent strategic planning, communication, training, consultation, presentation, dialogue, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with extensive experience of leading and managing change processes and of programme design, management, monitoring and evaluation; ✓ Experience with fund management, including steering committee membership of UN and EU trust fund mechanisms, coordination of resource allocation and development of country level initiatives to improve aid coordination and effectiveness in transition and fragile contexts. ✓ Specialised geographical focus in East Africa (Kenya, Sudan, Somalia) and West Africa (particularly Nigeria). ✓ Proven track record of raising UK ODA profile through high quality communications ✓ UK Developed Vetting Security Clearance
