Daniela De Vito

I have over twenty years of practical experience in the broad area of human rights and with a particular focus on the complexities faced by refugees/asylum seekers. I have engaged in curriculum development, research, monitoring, project management and advocacy within higher education and non-governmental organisation (NGO) environments which have utilised a multi-disciplinary approach to human rights. I also have significant experience in working on the issueof women and girls in relation to asylum claims/forced migration, gender violence, gendermainstreaming, social inclusion, situations of armed conflict and human rights education and training. In turn, my work has involved civil society engagement and non-state actor capacitybuilding which utilised an inter-sectional underscore of cultural co-operation and policy dialogue influenced by citizenship education and human rights modalities to connect with so-called outsiders such as refugees and vulnerable minorities. I have extensive knowledge in the development, delivery, monitoring, evaluation and administration of human rights campaigns and training projects. My responsibilities have included consulting with organisations such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the European Union (EU) and with stakeholders such as refugees who have been tortured. This work has resulted in the development of strong research, interview, training, evaluation, monitoring, interpersonal and writing skills which can be adapted across organisations and to a variety of stakeholders.
