SUMMARY: Dr. Endale Workalemahu Tilahun is a licensed medical doctor with over 20 years of public health experience managing donor-funded HIV and reproductive health (RH) programs in East and Southern Africa. He is an accomplished partnership builder, policy influencer and team-builder. Currently, Dr. Tilahun serves as the Country Representative (CR) in Eswatini, having previously been Acting CR for three months in Ethiopia, both for PSI. Prior to that, as the Deputy CR of PSI/Ethiopia, Dr. Tilahun supervised two Chiefs of Party (COP), five department heads, and oversaw 150 full-time employees while directly managing a portfolio of $12 million. Dr. Tilahun has extensive experience working with significant stakeholders, including Ministries of Health, CDC, USAID, USG Department of Defense (DOD), Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), United Nations (UN) agencies, and international nongovernmental organizations to manage HIV, youth-friendly family planning (FP), non-communicable diseases (NCD) and water, health, and sanitation (WASH) programs. While serving as a member of the PEPFAR Prevention Technical Working Group (TWG) in Ethiopia, Dr. Tilahun led a collaborative design and rollout of evidence-based national minimum package of HIV services for Ethiopia that included VMMC in prioritized geographic regions and target groups. Dr. Endale holds a Master of Public Health and a Doctor of Medicine degree. Dr Endale received multiple Awards from USG while he was at CDC including Franklin Award.
