Irene is a Social Development Specialist and Independent Consultant with over 15 years of experience, working with Donors, Government and NGOs in Africa. She holds a MSc. (International Development) from Birmingham University, UK. Her areas of interest include: social appraisal, gender analysis, disability and development, social protection, and political economy analysis. Her key consultancy clients to-date include: USAID, World Bank, FAO, WFP and various Ministries in Uganda. She has also done various assignments in South Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya and Tanzania. Prior to becoming an independent consultant, Irene was Social Development Adviser for DFID in Uganda. Irene splits her time between Germany and Uganda.
