I am an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. I was previously the Head of the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Division, Anti-Human Trafficking, Victim and Witness, and Facilitation and Support Units. I hold a post-graduate degree in International Law and Human rights from the United Nations Mandated University for Peace, San Jose -Costa Rica, A First Class degree in Law (LLB) and a Bachelor of Social Laws(BSL) from Shivaji University, India, a Higher Diploma in HRM, Kenya and a Postgraduate Diploma from Kenya School of law and several certificates in the SGBV, Mediation, Counter-trafficking in-person course, Child exploitation, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and abuse(PSHEA) as well as in gender training methods among others. I have extensive experience in the area of human rights, children, Anti-human trafficking, family, and Labour and Public interest litigation issues acquired through my work at the Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice- National Legal Aid Program (NALEAP) where she was a Deputy Legal Aid Coordinator and Private Sector. I have also engaged in consultancy work on Gender and Human rights issues for various International and National Civil society organisations. I have worked with various development Partners, including the UNFPA, UNODC, PLEAD-K, EQUALITY NOW, CIVIPOL, LWOB, and UNWOMEN, to implement projects and activities. I have also spearheaded the development of various policies and guidelines, such as standard operating procedures for investigating and prosecuting Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants and the Draft Rapid Reference guide for dealing with TIP cases in Kenya. In addition, I am a Certified Proficient Trainer in Gender, Human Rights, and trafficking in Persons and online child sexual exploitation and Abuse. I am a member of the Law Society of Kenya, the Mediation Training Institute (USA), IPM-K, and the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA-K). An inaugural board member of the National Legal Aid Service as well as a member of the Sexual Offences Review Committee, which is tasked with the review of the sexual offences Act and all the attendant laws. I have excellent Research, Computer, Interpersonal, Communication, Time management, Problem-solving and supervisor skills.
