Summary

Dr. Jérémie Zoungrana, a Health Sociologist, and Program Management Expert brings more two decades of leadership, program management, and technical experience in leading large-scale complex Family Planning, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health; HIV/AIDS and Community Health projects. Currently, Dr. Zoungrana serves as Jhpiego Tanzania Country Director with a portfolio of about $45 million from divers programs and donors and more than 500 staff. He is one of only four Global Champions for White Ribbon Alliance. Before that, he was serving as both the MCHIP Rwanda COP and the Jhpiego Rwanda Country Director for Jhpiego. His breadth of knowledge, management expertise and leadership skills have yielded key results for the program and stellar relationships with different Governments and collaborating partners. Mr. Zoungrana’s leadership under the Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision program resulted in more than 70,000 men being circumcised by trained 400 health providers trained. At his position of board member of the Global WRA for Safe Motherhood,( 2008 – 1012), he demonstrated exemplary leadership, working across multiple African and Asian countries to ignite commitment and discover synergies with Ministry, private sector and civil society actors. His efforts to promote safe motherhood have been recognized by awards from the Global Health Council in 2002 and 2004 and by the Global Secretariat in 2010. From 2005–2008, Mr. Zoungrana served as Jhpiego Country Director and supported Programs in West Africa. In June 2006, Dr. Zoungrana served as keynote speaker at the U.S. Congressional Global Health Caucus and hosted a briefing on malaria issues related to women's health titled “Combating Malaria in Africa.” He received a presidential distinction from Burkina Faso as "Chevalier de l'Ordre National " on the December 11th, 2004 and contributed in a number of published peer reviewed journals
