Mr. Schumacher brings over 20 years of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) experience and program management, having held senior positions in U.S. government programs in Washington, DC, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He has also worked for the UK Government's Foreign, Commonwealth& Development Office and with the United Nations. He has led some of the largest evaluations of climate change adaptation and mitigation programming undertaken by the U.S. government, including NASA's SERVIR project. Most recently, he was the Senior Evaluation Advisor to USAID's Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning contract in Afghanistan (AMELA). He's overseen or been the Team Lead on over a hundred and twenty assignments. He has also worked extensively as a conflict resolution expert, including with the U.S. Department of State.
