Kanika Chakraborty is a seasoned development and humanitarian professional with experiences of working in multi-sectoral programs in Asia, South East Asia, Middle East and West Africa. She has excellent understanding and working experiences in the field of PSEA, protection, gender justice through gender mainstreaming and gender responsive approaches, safeguarding of women and children, community development, women and children's rights, SGBV, economic empowerment of women and girls, girls' education, conflict resolution, peace building and humanitarian response. Her 15 years' career track records demonstrate dedication, commitment and endless efforts to ensure all development and humanitarian programs meet gender markers, and address the needs of vulnerable women, girls and boys. Kanika understands the root causes of harassment, bullying, violence, gender discrimination, exclusion and socio-political norms, which prompted her to effectively identify policy and practice issues for awareness building and advocacy at different levels. As she worked globally including in various conflict zones, she gained excellent skills in remote/distance management using various management tools. Kanika works well independently and remotely as well as effectively delivered results as a team player in normal and highly sensitive context including post-conflict contexts like Rakhine State in Myanmar and Kutupalong, Balukhali Camp in Coxbazar Bangladesh, post conflict development in Nepal and chronic conflict context in Afghanistan. She also enriched her knowledge by working with different donors and UN agencies.
