As the Lead of WRI Africa’s Data Lab, I oversee the strategic development, management, and implementation of geospatial platforms, including Forest Atlases, Energy Access Explorer, Map Builder, and Africa Cities Watch. I provide both technical and programmatic leadership, ensuring the successful execution of complex, multi-country initiatives across Africa by leading the design, integration, and optimization of critical infrastructure, software, and cloud services, leveraging technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Esri products. I spearhead technical support for key projects in forest management, urban planning, and energy access, while ensuring effective project management, including monitoring and evaluation (M&E), stakeholder engagement, and donor reporting. Collaborating with WRI’s Global Data Lab Product and Engineering teams, I drive the visibility and impact of WRI Africa’s data solutions and lead cross-office knowledge sharing, enhancing platform integration and GIS systems across the organization’s global network.
