I am an inclusive education specialist with over a decade of international experience reviewing and reforming education policy, procedures and strategies to be more in line with human rights and inclusion principles. I hold a PhD in Inclusion and Disability Studies from University College London, Institute of Education and am a qualified teacher. My professional experience is focused on: - Building education strategies and policies in line with equity and inclusion principles; - Conducting qualitative, quantitative and mixed method research to inform inclusion related policy and practice; - Designing and delivering direct and cascade, in-person and remote, capacity-building training for national and international educators and policy makers; - Developing interactive self-learning and taught modules and manuals in disability inclusion targeting policy makers, practitioners and stakeholders; and - Advocating for and empowering people with disabilities and other vulnerable populations to improve their lives. My experience spans a number of low- and middle-income countries and humanitarian contexts in North and East Africa, the Middle East, Central and Southern Asia. I have provided technical services linked to inclusion for numerous international organisations, such as the British Council, UNESCO, UNDP and UNICEF, as well as several ministries of education and other government departments.
