Overview: 23 years of experience in the international development sector with a focus on governance and social sectors, particularly in the post-conflict, fragile state context of Pakistan and Somalia. Accomplished senior leadership and management roles; program design and implementation; business development (fundraising), evaluations/assessments and research; strategic planning and institutional development. Management Responsibilities: Since 2009, led large, multi-year USAID, FCDO, and EU projects and served as country representative. The thematic scope includes governance and social sectors/education in conflict and emergencies, civil society engagement with state institutions, accelerated basic education, electoral reform, parliamentary strengthening, conflict transformation, and post-conflict reforms. Technical Advisory Role: As Senior Governance Adviser for USAID/Pakistan mission, provided technical advice on civil society capacity building for accountability and service delivery; mainstreaming governance in social sectors particularly education and health, institutional reforms for greater citizen access, parliamentary strengthening and electoral reform. Project Design, Assessments/Evaluations, Strategic Planning: Done design work for various projects of USAID, DFID, EU, and UNDP. In addition, have done research studies and political economy analyses. Client Experience: USAID, FCDO, EU, UNDP, DAI, Chemonics International, NDI, IFES, British Council, The Kaizen Company, MSI, Blumont, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES), The Asia Foundation and Creative Associates International.
