Mr. Obitre-Gama is a seasoned professional in engineering, management and capacity building. Quality-focused and results-oriented construction project management and contracts administration & management specialist having over 26 years of experience in infrastructure designing, analysis, planning, financial management, construction management, quality control, quality assurance, facilities management, clean energy projects and life support services contracts in challenging environments including 14 years’ direct experience with the U.S. Government or USAID funded construction activities in Bangladesh, Uganda, Liberia, Afghanistan and South Sudan. Well experienced and knowledgeable about the the U.S. DOS Overseas Building Operation Codes and Standards for life safety and security. With a focus in the construction sector over the years, he has successfully overseen Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) based infrastructure projects. Notable achievements include supporting policy revisions and regulatory improvements, overseeing business models for private sector involvement in utility management, and receiving Mission Honor and On-The-Spot Awards at USAID/Afghanistan for exceptional mentorship, coaching, and performance in project and construction management. Mr. Obitre-Gama played a key role in managing a critical high voltage transmission line project in Afghanistan, successfully averting a $14M G2G contractor claim.
