I am a physician-scientist and public health program implementation expert with over 15 years of experience leading research and program implementation projects across 7 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. My projects and experience in leadership have spanned key topics of health and development in the region, including HIV and tuberculosis and non-communicable diseases. I have particular experience in directing complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-national teams, which has been made possible by my fluency in three languages (English, French and Portuguese), and my skillset in forming and supporting collaborative partnerships with Departments of Health, donors, scientists, program implementers and program staff.
