Summary

I am a seasoned international development professional, originally from the Pittsburgh area, who has spent most of the past three decades abroad overseeing large-scale donor-funded development and humanitarian relief projects, usually in the capacity of senior-level representative of U.S.-based organizations, but I have also served as Chief of Party for two USAID-funded projects and headed up the largest NGO coordination body in Afghanistan. My programmatic areas of concentration have been in conflict resolution/peacebuilding, youth programming, human rights, education, promotion of the rights of women and girls, anti-trafficking programming and HIV/AIDS programming. While I have worked during my career in Eastern Europe, Latin America and East Asia, the bulk of my work (including eight years spent in South Sudan) has been in sub-Saharan Africa. In my free time, I am a passionate and innovative supporter of programs benefiting vulnerable children and other youth programming, as attested by my association with several children’s assistance agencies in South Sudan.
