Rose Rita Kingamkono

I am a holder of a PhD in Food Science, PGD and Masters in Food Science and Nutrition, and Bachelor in agriculture, I am of high intergrity, hard working person with high affirnity to taking new and high challanges. I am very resourceful, with dependable leadership skills.

I am currently working with Land O'Lakes as Chief of Party, of a two years (2013/2014) USAD project "Innovation in Gender Equality to Improve Household Food Security in Tanzania". This is a project with a vision of “A Tanzanian society in which women’s efforts in agriculture is recognized; they benefit from their efforts; freely access to and equitably own and utilize household productive resources; and are empowered to take leadership opportunities in agriculture for enhanced household food and nutrition security and wealth creation” The mission is “to facilitate the testing and promoting technologies that reduce time and labor burdens for women working in agriculture; building women’s leadership capacity in the agriculture sector, and advocating for policy changes that promote gender equality in agriculture”

Before joining Land O'Lakes, I worked with Save the Children, Tanzania, managing Partnership in Nutrition for Tanzania (PANITA), a programme with a vision of “A Tanzanian Society in which the citizens are free from malnutrition” and the mission of advancing advocacy efforts, improve coordination and reduce malnutrition by strengthening the capacity of and increased mobilization and coordination of Civil Society
Organizations, private sector organizations, the media and other development partners to facilitate a more effective national and local response to addressing malnutrition.

Earlier on, I worked with Tanzania Commission for Science & Technology as Director of Research Coordination and Promotion for nine years (March 2002 to September 2011) during which I also acted as the Director Gneneral of the Commission for 7 months (Nov 2008-2009); and with Tanzania Food and Nutrition Center as a Food & Nutrition
Scientist/Nutritionist for 21 years (April 1980- February 2002) designing, planning, managing, implementing and monitoring food and nutrition research projects. I am well published in the
food science and nutrition arena specifically in child feeding and food microbiology. I am also highly networked involved in a number of scientific and policy boards.
