Summary

I am a specialist on countering violent extremism, indigeneity, persecution of ethno-religious minorities, gender, and evaluation research. I have worked for both USAID and DoS. I am also an experienced instructor, writer, and editor. I have a Ph.D in Anthropology. I have held a secret security clearance twice in the past--once for USAID and once for DoS. I am currently an Instructor in the Graduate Program of the University of Maryland Center for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) and have written three books on the topics of extremism in the Middle East, persecution of religious minorities, and civil rights and labor law.
