Saro Tsaturyan is a health economist with 30 years of experience in health financing and health policy reforms in Armenia and other countries in the region. In 2012–16, he was the head of the State Health Agency of the Ministry of Health, the agency in charge of procuring publicly funded medical services in Armenia. In 2001–12, he was the chief executive officer of a private medical center, and has also managed a private health insurance company in Armenia. He has also served as the Chief Expert of the Standing Committee on Health and Social Issues of the Parliament of Armenia. Since 2016, he has worked as a health systems and health financing consultant for multiple international development organizations. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Armenian Institute of National Economy and a Master of Public Health from the American University of Armenia.
