Passionately pursuing sustainable development for over 25 years, leveraging on qualifications in civil, environmental & chemical engineering (IIT) & environmental economics (IIIEE, Sweden) and recognized experience as an environmental & social specialist in premier national (public, private & non-profit) organizations & United Nations Development Programme, as a regulator, faculty, consultant, fund manager, corporate adviser, and development specialist. Primarily worked in India, with international exposure through i) funded/ joint programs of the World Bank, GIZ, MLF, GEF, UNDP, UNEP, UNIDO, OPCW, USEPA, USCSP, CRDF Global, ICCA, ACC, SNL, Lund University, Maastricht University, Wisconsin University, Karlsruhe University, etc., and ii) sponsored delegate to programs held in Belgium, China, Denmark, Germany, Indonesia, Latvia, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, and the USA. Proven strengths spanning across 1) National policies, action plans, institutional frameworks, regulations, standards, and enforcement; 2) Assessment and Management of Environmental and Social Risks/ Impacts; 3) Resource efficiency, pollution prevention, and control; 4) Occupational health, safety, and working conditions; 5) Urban environmental infrastructure, circular economy, community health, and safety; 6) Natural resources, biodiversity, financial intermediaries and stake-holders engagement; 7) Blue economy, and ambient air quality; 8) Leading environmental programs, United Nations program life-cycle management from conceptualization to closure; and 9) Monitoring & evaluation, and development impact. Recognized for drawing effective environmental risk management solutions, specifically for complex development challenges and collaborative programs with international, national partners & respective stakeholders, that seek globally comparable technical competencies – accomplished 67 projects including national action plans; studied 375 industries including power plants; published 31 books; extended advisory services including EIA studies for ~INR 600,000 million worth infrastructure projects, member of the government constituted expert committees and part of hundreds of capacity building programs.
