Kennedy Auka

Kennedy is currently a doctorate student in Strategic Management at the University of Nairobi in addition to being a holder of Masters of Business Administration in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from United States International University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Public Secretary (CPS) and has post graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Association of Business Executives (ABE) and Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), Certificate in Leadership from Strathmore School of Business. He has over 28 years working experience in both private and public sector organizations handling operations management, procurement and logistics, financial management, treasury management, risk management, strategic planning, and human resources management. He has undertaken several consultancy assignments in Kenya, Uganda, Mongolia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Mozambique, Malawi, Lesotho, South Sudan, Liberia, Tanzania, Zanzibar and Zambia which include designing and developing operations manual for project implementation unit that include financial, accounting, procurement and human resource regulations and procedures specific to the project, Consolidation of schemes of service and professionalization of the procurement function, Procurement audits for various Government projects funded by the World Bank and African Development Bank. Other assignments in the public sector include procurement capacity assessment capacity for Kenya comprising 50 procuring entities in sampled sectors, financial management agent, institutional assessment, strategic plan development, financial advisory services, organizational development and procurement management agent. As an associate consultant of ICPAK, ICPSK and Dorion Associates he has delivered training services on corporate governance for the directors of Kenya Tea Development Agency, Jamii Bora Bank, Paramount Bank, Lake Victoria South Water Services Board, and Tai Sacco. He has also facilitated trainings on financial management for the Egerton University Council, Senior Management staff of the National Drought Management Authority among other institutions. He is a member of Professional bodies including the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya, CPA Australia, Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya, Institute of Human Resource Management, Kenya Institute of Supplies Management, Kenya Institute of Management, Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, Professional Trainers Association of Kenya, Institute of Internal Auditors, Institute of Directors in Kenya and the Association of Business Executives.
