Steven J. Anlian, AICP, an international development expert and urban planner, has a professional career divided between international and U.S. domestic activities, having worked directly for government, non-profit and for-profit organizations. He has been active in business development and program management for several organizations supporting USAID and other donors, offering strong technical expertise in governance, infrastructure planning, housing and urban development, economic growth, disaster and post-conflict relief and sustainable recovery. He has successfully served as Chief-of-Party (COP) for four USAID programs, and lived and worked overseas for over 15 years, mostly in the former Soviet Union. He has also been engaged with training and capacity/institution building programs, and communication/knowledge management in collaboration with host country counterparts. He has led teams overseas on sectoral assessments and program evaluations for USAID and managed IDIQs.
