Sumiran is a development expert with over 19 years of experience in Communication and Programme Management. He has worked with donor governments including the European Union, US, France, Finland, Sweden and Norway through his responsibilities in both international and national roles for development actors like the Asian Development Bank, UN Women Asia Pacific Regional Office in Thailand, UN Women Myanmar, UN Women Nepal, UNICEF, DT Global (formerly AECOM International Development), Hivos/Energia, Population Services International and Action Against Hunger amongst others. Mr. Shrestha’s work focuses extensively on developing and establishing programming and communication systems using results based management techniques. Work responsibilities have enabled solutions to the programming and communication requirements of programmes related to access to justice; adolescents; agriculture; education, food security and livelihoods, governance; health; humanitarian action; migration; women’s economic empowerment; women, peace and security; and COVID-19 response. With the support of effective strategies, these programmes have been successful to reach and influence key audiences in South East Asia, South Asia and the Pacific Islands which include Myanmar, Indonesia, Philippines, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste and the Pacific Island Countries.
