I am a PhD scholar at Fiji National University, researching climate justice with a focus on indigenous and transcultural knowledge integration in policy frameworks. My academic background includes a Master of Arts in Development Studies (International Relations, Governance, and Development), a Postgraduate Diploma in Sociology, a Postgraduate Certificate in International Relations and Diplomacy, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, History and Politics, and a Diploma in Law. With over two decades of professional experience, I have served in senior roles across UN agencies and INGOs including the ILO (Senior Programme Officer), International Trade Centre (Project Team Leader), and World Green Climate Association (CEO for Oceania). I have led research and policy assignments for Development Pathways (UK) and contributed to community development through Soroptimist International. My core expertise lies in international law, gender, human rights, disability inclusion, social policy, and climate change adaptation. I bring extensive experience in diplomacy, multicultural engagement, and partnership-building across Pacific Island Countries. For over 25 years, I have also led volunteer work supporting vulnerable women and communities, especially in disaster response and rural development. I advocate for development approaches that uphold human rights and democracy in practice, and that fully recognize the central role of culture in achieving sustainable development.
