Tijjani Suleiman M, BSc in Education with a focus on Biology, brings 18 years of experience working with international NGOs and projects in Nigeria. He currently serves as the Country Lead for the AfroCAB THRIVE Project, which is funded by UNITAID and implemented in partnership with the Clinton Health Access Initiative and PENTA. In his prior role, Tijjani was the State Team Lead for the Society for Family Health (SFH) on the USAID-funded Key Population Community HIV Services for Action and Response (KPCARE 2) Project in Kebbi State. This $20 million project, spanning five years, is carried out across eight states in the northeast and northwest regions of Nigeria. Before his time at SFH, Tijjani served as the State HRH Coordinator for the USAID-funded Health Workforce Management (HWM) Activity, implemented by Banyan Global in collaboration with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, Abt Associates, and Solina Health in 2021. In this position, he concentrated on enhancing the health workforce to improve service delivery. Earlier in his career, Tijjani was a Community Mobilization Officer for JHPIEGO on the UNITAID-funded TIPTOP project in Niger State, which focused on malaria prevention. The project utilized Community Health Influencers and Promoters Services (CHIPS) to boost antenatal care uptake and promote community Intermittent Preventive Treatment in pregnancy (C-IPTp). Additionally, Tijjani has volunteered as the Program Manager for Hope for Orphans Progress and Empowerment Initiatives. In this role, he supported the organization in policy advocacy, community engagement, and resource mobilization. His efforts encompassed care and support for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC), primary healthcare, water and sanitation, community capacity building, basic education, gender equity and social inclusion, protection, and economic strengthening activities in Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara States. Tijjani is a motivated team leader with a proven track record in leadership, organization, and managing multi-sector stakeholder relationships. He excels at problem-solving and keeping teams focused on diverse business needs. With a history of client and talent retention, he fosters a supportive environment conducive to mental well-being.
