Summary

Dr. Wise Agbetsiafa is a Ghanaian expert with over 20 years’ experience providing financial and accountancy-related technical assistance, advisory support and capacity-building services that has provided him with valuable insight and understanding of regional issues at stake. His roles covered Africa, including Francophone West Africa and Madagascar. He has advised and worked with governments and donors, including USAID, USADF, UNICEF, DANIDA and the DFID, on private sector development related projects, including supply-chain management, health (general healthcare and SRH), climate change, agribusiness, gender, microfinance, peacebuilding, education, and SME development related assignments. Dr. Agbetsiafa brings technical, strategic, and program management skills to the program – reinforced by his 15 years of experience as finance and administration expert at country and regional levels, coordinating an extended network of donors and counterparts and supervising capacity-building activities for diverse teams, ranging from finance and grants managers, procurement officers to IT and security systems experts. His deep experience in program design of financial related activities and strategic planning, enables him to manage finance and operations in a broader scope of ground operations, quality control, continuous improvement, providing with output-specific strategies and themed calls for concept notes and proposals, mobilize resources and effectively support program partners to deliver results and increase opportunities for representation of citizens’ interests. Dr. Agbetsiafa is currently DCOP Finance for a USAID-funded Civil Society capacity-building project. Just before that, he was a Business, Finance & Admin Advisor for a private sector company implementing the Global Health Supply Chain, Procurement & Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project in Liberia by supporting the national Central Medical Stores (CMS). Just before this, he has been the Chief Executive Officer of a private Consulting and Hospitality company and has also worked as Director for Finance & Administration to the USAID Feed the Future initiative implemented by ACDI/VOCA in Ghana; and before then as Finance, Grants and Operations Manager to another USAID-funded West Africa Biodiversity & Climate Change program. His experience involves a wide range of donors such as USAID, DFID, DANIDA, EU, the Global Fund, UNICEF. His multi-donor projects-related experience complements his deep expertise and will enable the development of specific methodologies that benefit from global and regional best practices. Dr. Agbetsiafa is a Fellow of the Association for Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) who also holds a Doctor of Project Management award from the Atlantic International University, USA in addition to an MBA in Project Management & Consultancy from the University of East London, UK.
