International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)
About
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is a global humanitarian organization that builds resilience by acting before, during and after natural and human-made disasters at the community level, operating along a continuum of preparedness, response, recovery, and development.
Through a network of 190 member National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and up to 17 million active volunteers, the IFRC supports vulnerable people wherever and whenever they are in need, working with and for communities and individuals to provide humanitarian services that build their resilience and respect their dignity and potential. In 2013, the IFRC reached 110 million people with disaster response and early recovery programmes, and 160.7 million people through its long-term services and development work.
