Project Summary:

In August 2016, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded Management Systems International, Inc. (MSI) the Science, Technology, Innovation and Partnership Training and Capacity Building and Support Contract. Under the award, MSI supports USAID’s Innovation, Technology and Research Hub to provide USAID staff with training and capacity development support. In addition to classroom trainings and live learning activities, MSI assists USAID in developing, designing and implementing distance learning (e.g. eLearning modules) in compliance with the relevant U.S. Government and USAID/Office of the Chief Information Officer requirements, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (Section 508 compliance).

Position Summary:

The Animation Specialist will work closely with MSI’s communications team and the USAID client office to create a two-to-three minute animation for a USAID client, with accompanying infographics. The animated video and infographics should be entertaining, informational, engaging, and user friendly, and serve as educational/training resources accessible to the entire USAID workforce. The Specialist will work with the project team to develop the concept of the video and will maintain frequent communication with the project team throughout the development process. This is a short-term position that will begin in May and conclude no later than June. This is a telework position.

Responsibilities:

  • Animate video using design/animation style created by MSI graphic designer and communications team

  • Animate three to five 20-second infographic clips to be used on social media which will inform the two-minute video

  • Develop videos that include animation, motion graphics, interactive platforms (online, PDF, etc.) and other similar visual publishing tools

  • Incorporate feedback from the MSI project team into each stage of the video/animation development

  • Ensure the products meet the requirements and quality standards of MSI and USAID

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study preferred (i.e., motion graphics, animation)

  • Minimum of two years of demonstrated professional experience in motions graphics, animation, and digital video editing

  • After Effects/Adobe CC software skills preferred

  • Fluency in English required
