Position Summary:

The Business Development (BD) Coordinator will support the business development unit on a range of tasks, from knowledge management to opportunity management, research, and writing. The successful candidate will report to the Deputy Director of BD. The preferred location for this role is in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a leading role in improving BD’s knowledge management in part to support the Building Better Proposals initiative and its resulting activities, including maintaining Egnyte files, monitoring the accuracy of BD data in Colibri, periodically updating BD resources on Stacy’s Toolbox, and making proposal writing materials more accessible to writers.
  • Support Opportunity Managers on proposal efforts, including completing capture plans, doing partnering research, and other tasks as needed.
  • Manage some proposal efforts in coordination with technical honchos and the rest of the proposal teams.
  • Support Recruiters with sourcing as well as writing CVs and bio blurbs occasionally.
  • Help the BD team track client priorities and competitor intel, such as monitoring USAID’s Environmental Compliance Database and the business forecasts of some of our non-USAID clients.
  • Circulate the USAID Business Forecast to BD management twice a week, noting any changes to the list of opportunities.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new tools and processes that will improve BD operations.
  • Coordinate with other MSI teams, such as Cost, Operations, and technical staff, on certain BD initiatives and process improvements to ensure effective communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Write PPRs, corporate capability statements, and other sections for proposal efforts.
  • Help manage the Contractor Performance Assessment Report (CPAR) process for MSI.
  • Work with the Deputy Director to conduct analyses of business development market data and trends that will be shared with key staff at MSI and Tetra Tech Global Development Sector (GDS) on an annual basis.
  • Support regular data calls from Tetra Tech GDS or corporate.
  • Support BD management with ad hoc requests, as needed, such as updating or creating BD strategies for new or existing clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in international studies, business management, public administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum one year of experience conducting BD or project management preferred, preferably with U.S. government agencies and/or international development agencies.
  • Experience in international work and/or travel preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, and organizational and critical thinking skills required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to be proactive, leverage strong working relationships, and manage multiple changing priorities to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, required.
  • Knowledge of a foreign language preferred.

Pay Transparency Statement:

We are committed to taking a thoughtful, compliant, and equitable approach to employment compensation. We commit to providing a holistic comprehensive salary analysis, including reviews of individual skill sets and compensable factors related to qualifications, business needs, internal compensation data, and industry and labor market surveys. The anticipated pay range for this position is $47,000 to $54,000 USD.
