Oxford Policy Management (OPM) is seeking a Circular Economy Specialist. This is an exciting role that will support the needs of the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office of the UK Government (FCDO) in working on a partnership agreement in the Low Carbon Development Initiative (LCDI). This will be on an initial 6 month contract with anticipation of extending to 12 months.
The first phase of LCDI was implemented in 2017-2021. Currently, the programme has entered LCDI Phase 2 (LCDI2) for four years and to implement this second stage effectively, OPM is seeking a team of experts from various key sectors.
Specifically, the LCDI programme covers the following objectives:
The Circular Economy Specialist will support the LCDI-2 management unit in providing technical input for the Circular Economy (CE) approach in the priority sectors, such as food and beverage, plastic, textile, constructions, and electronics. The Circular Economy Specialist is responsible for developing knowledge product, establishing network, and providing inputs for activities implementation that is contributing to accelerating circular economy agenda to support low carbon development and climate resilience in Indonesia. The successful post holder will also work together with other units in the LCDI-2 team to develop the Circular Economy Platform, with support to the National Circular Economy Roadmap and Action Plan, pilot projects, and the monitoring and evaluation system for CE implementation. The specialist will report directly to the Deputy Team Leader of the LCDI-2 Project.
Key responsibilities and day-to-day duties for this role will include (not exhaustive):
Successful outputs in this role will be measured via report on carbon emission reduction potential from circular economy initiatives; constructing system dynamic model from circular economy initiatives in the national and provincial; regular updating the National and Provincial LCD report in circular economy initiatives from key ministries and 34 provinces through the AKSARA system; producing reports and/or policy brief on climate policies , governance, technology, market from the global and national, (both low carbon and climate resilience) particularly from the circular economy initiatives; and creating quarterly activity progress reports.
