Position Overview

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Short Courses, the Climate Change Facilitator is responsible for the design and delivery of Climate Change and Disaster Risk Resilience awareness activities for short courses. As a contributor to AAPNG, the Climate Change Facilitator contributes to the quality delivery and positive program outcomes for AAPNG.

This is a short-term adviser position with up to 40 input days until 30 June 2027. It is anticipated a minimum of two-days delivery will be required each quarter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify key Australian Government and Government of Papua New Guinea policies and priorities in the areas of Climate Change, Disaster Risk Resilience and sustainability.
  • Design and deliver targeted workshops that build knowledge in key areas and support opportunities for embedding Climate Change and Disaster Risk Resilience into Short Course Awards and workplace projects.
  • Produce a report that includes workshop delivery feedback, lessons learnt as well as recommendations for future delivery and course content refinement / customisation
  • Deliver agreed outputs on time and to a high standard in line with program requirements.
  • Champion all activities addressing Climate Change and Disaster Risk Resilience principles and objectives
  • Lead by example and contribute to the development of a program culture that adheres to the Tetra Tech Values and Behaviours.
  • May be required to undertake travel within Papua New Guinea or to Australia Other duties from time to time, as may be reasonably requested by DFAT and Tetra Tech.

Selection Criteria:

  • Qualification/s (or an equivalent combination of relevant experience) in Climate Change, Disaster Risk Resilience, or sustainability
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in the development and delivery of Climate Change and Disaster Risk Resilience awareness activities in an international development context
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of Australian and Papua New Guinean Climate Change priorities
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in leading workshops and supporting learning
  • Demonstrated experience in working independently and within cross-cultural teams in a collaborative, professional environment.
  • Proven high level computer skills, in particular Office 365 applications
