About the Opportunity
Abt Associates is seeking a Commercial Coordinator for the London Office.
The Commercial Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the costing function for Abt Associates in the UK. This role will be responsible for undertaking bid and tender support as well as assisting with the business development and financial compliance functions, including supporting existing programmes for Abt Associates.

You won’t need a huge amount of experience, but you will need a keen eye for detail, high levels of numeracy, a good working knowledge of excel, a good head for business and a passion for working in the international development sphere.
This entry level role also provides ample scope and opportunity to aid, assist and gain experience working with other teams across the organization from project management, accounting and delivery to bid management, technical design and proposal writing.
The job holder will also be responsible for (includes but not limited to):
• Working within the Business Development team and liaising with Finance, Technical & Program Delivery teams to prepare fully compliant and accurate financial proposals for client tender submissions.
• Preparing commercial pro-forma and narrative for submission to clients
• Support the preparation of business development reports, including early assessment of pipeline opportunities.
• Track and analyse financial data on existing programmes to inform financial proposals.
• Provide objective and relevant analysis and modelling to support the development of budgets and business plans.
• Support the annual long-range planning process.
• Assist in ensuring all financial compliance obligations are met in all jurisdictions and assist in maintaining a financial compliance register.
• Conduct reporting and financial analysis as directed.
• Research and gathering of data regarding operational expenses and compliance costs in the various geographic locations of business opportunities
• Assisting and advising the Recruitment team in the budgeting and negotiation of project staff candidates’ rates and compensation packages
• Assisting with benchmarking and compiling of cost data
• Assisting with identification of commercial and compliance risk
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and partners to gather costing data
• Cross-checking and reviewing colleagues’ costings
• Other duties as directed.

• Have strong numeracy skills
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Possess good commercial awareness and business acumen
• Be an analytical thinker with the ability to add value in improving processes and systems
• Strong collaboration and team-working skills, especially in cross-cultural contexts

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum depending on Experience
