PositionAbout the role
We’re seeking a Senior Associate to join the ECF’s Corporate Communications team for a six-month temporary cover. This role will co-deliver ECF’s corporate and internal communications strategies – strengthening our reputation and ensuring staff are informed and aligned with organisational priorities.
You’ll work closely with another Senior Associate and report to the Chief of Staff within the CEO Office, collaborating with colleagues across the organisation – including Programmes, Strategic Partnerships, Operations and Finance.
Key responsibilities
1.External corporate communications
Co-deliver ECF’s corporate communications strategy, in alignment with leadership and key stakeholders
Ensure management of ECF’s corporate reputation and brand
Manage potential crisis communications, including communication with staff and/or partners
Coordinate and draft corporate media work (e.g., messaging, op-eds, etc.)
Track coverage trends over time and adapt approach as needed
Maintain corporate guidelines, policies, talking points, and Q&A
Support production of the ECF Annual Report
Liaise with funder comms teams, other climate foundations, and external providers (design, web, comms) as needed
2.Internal communications
Co-deliver ECF’s internal communications strategy, together with leadership and key stakeholders
Contribute to internal comms for organisational transformation and other priorities (e.g., strategic leadership updates, values/DEI)
Help coordinate timing, messaging and content for internal updates
Track and respond to staff feedback and engagement metrics
3.Collaboration
Work closely with the other Senior Associate and the CEO office to ensure smooth delivery of team priorities
Coordinate with the Management Team, ensuring discretion on confidential matters
Collaborate with key stakeholders across ECF
RequirementsKey competencies
Excellent communication: Strong writing and editing skills in English, with the ability to create clear, engaging content on complex topics. Additional European languages are a plus.
Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across teams and with diverse stakeholders
Proactive mindset: Identifies opportunities, takes initiative and drives projects forward
Attention to detail: High standards for accuracy and quality
Organisational skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Skills and qualifications
Content creation for multiple channels
Media relations and/or crisis management experience
Familiarity with digital and analytics tools (CMS, SharePoint, social media, email platforms)
Experience supporting internal communications and/or change management initiatives is a plus.
5+ years’ experience in a relevant field, ideally including corporate communications (external and/or internal).
Knowledge of the climate action sector is highly desirable.

Practical details
Contract: Temporary (6 months)
Location: Paris or Brussels. Candidates must be entitled to work in the country they are applying for.
Start date: 1 February 2026
Travel: Occasional (on average, every 2 months) for team meetings and events.
